PARKING MAP

COURSE MAP
Course consists of 75% hard pack dirt roads, and 20% horse trails which can be loose, but are quite rideable. After the low crawl, there is a sandy wash section approximately 400 meters long. Some will ride through it, some will walk it, but all will make it. Bike Drops will be right alongside the obstacles, so make sure you make your bike identifiable. Course is almost exactly 4.5 miles long. Course is marked with white chalk arrows as well as 18" inch orange cones with directional arrows.

Upon arrival, please park in main parking area and walk your bike and gear in to the mud pit area. Port-a-Johns and showers are also located near the mud pit. We will have a bag corral near the start/finish for your keys.

Updates, course maps, and other bits of interest will be posted here. Be sure to check periodically, as well as after the last pre-race update Thursday, April 30th at 7pm. Additional information also available in our FAQs page.

Costumes? Heck ya, we've got a prize for the most creative

So, how does it work?

Based on the historic sport of Ride-n-Tie, one teammate first takes off riding dirt roads and trails, and drops their bike before completing the first obstacle, then takes off running. Meanwhile the second teammate runs to catch up, then completes the obstacle, picks up the bike and continues toward the next obstacle, passing the first teammate (now the runner) on the way. The tradeoff continues until they reach the mud pit where both teammates must crawl through together. You will cover a total distance of about 5 miles. Riding is non-technical and doable on just about anything but road bikes. There is a little sand here and there, but overall, a very nice hard-pack ride that most people can complete.

What do I need, then?

  • One Team (that's two people)
  • One Bike (to use between the two of you)
  • Mad Skills (not really, just a sense of adventure)
  • Two Costumes (strut yourself for the crowd and win one million dollars...not really, but maybe a pretty cool prize) costumes not required

Registration Fee Includes What?
